BusTech Group have committed to supporting both the Palm Beach Currumbin (PBC) and Burleigh Bombers Football Clubs in Queensland as a major sponsor.

“One of BusTech Group’s key goals is to support and add value to the communities where we operate,” says Kasia Pitman, Director of Sustainability at BusTech Group.

“It’s important to us that we give back to local communities and we are proud to be supporting footy clubs on the Gold Coast, as we have a manufacturing facility in Burleigh Heads.”

Like many community organisations, the footy clubs were severely impacted by COVID-19 as activities such as functions, raffles and food/beverage income halted during the pandemic. For PBC, the financial sustainability of the football club was further impacted by the M1 highway upgrades, which started in 2020 and removed the majority of carparking at the PBC Sports Club.

Sponsorship, particularly during these turbulent times, is crucial to the success of these footy clubs and BusTech Group are thrilled to be able to support both clubs through a mutually rewarding relationship.

“We were rapt to be approached by BusTech last year, just when the impacts of the pandemic and loss of income from the Sports Club were biting hard,” says Joe Gorman, Sponsorship Manager, Palm Beach Currumbin Football Club. “The whole club got a real boost when the BusTech sponsorship was announced.”

“Our playing group are well aware of how important the BusTech sponsorship is to our club, and the players go out on the field every week with the conscious aim of making our sponsors and supporters proud of the way we play the game – win or lose,” adds Joe.

“The passion, positive culture and community focus of both the Palm Beach Currumbin and Burleigh Bombers Football Clubs is evident,” says Thinus Steyn, BusTech Group CEO. “It was an easy decision for us to get involved and we are happy to contribute to the Gold Coast community though these sponsorships. We look forward to celebrating premierships with both clubs in the future.”
